OpenAI Chatbots offer five models to choose from (gpt-3.5-turbo, gpt-4, gpt-4-turbo, gpt-40, and gpt-4.1). For typical chatbot use in Second Life, the gpt-3.5-turbo model is usually sufficient. The other four chat models were added for a better role-playing experience or more complex tasks, such as scientific questions or similar scenarios.
gpt-3.5-turbo (recommended): This model is inexpensive and ideal for normal conversations.
gpt-4 and gpt-4-turbo are the most expensive models (gpt-4 being the most expensive) and should only be used if the chatbot needs to solve complex tasks. Depending on personal preference, the gpt-4o model can also be used, although it is five times more expensive than gpt-3.5-turbo. If you're looking for more in-depth chats and feel that GPT-3.5 isn't sufficient, GPT-4.1 is often the better choice, as this model is cheaper than GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo. ChantalAI Chatbots:

ChantalAI chatbots offer three models to choose from (chantal-gpt-3, chantal-gpt-4, and chantal-gpt-5). Fewer models are not a disadvantage, however. ChantalAI's models are trained for natural, interpersonal conversations and are perfectly suited for all types of chats and role-playing in Second Life.
chantal-gpt-3: This model is cost-effective and significantly cheaper than gpt-3.5-turbo. It was primarily trained in English with 7 billion parameters but can also generate texts in other languages, although not with the same quality and variety as OpenAI, chantal-gpt-4, or chantal-gpt-5.
chantal-gpt-4: This model was trained in multiple languages with 235 billion parameters. It is many times more powerful than chantal-gpt-3. This means it can understand chat histories even better and generates even more perfect and creative responses. In terms of token costs, it's twice as expensive as chantal-gpt-3 and still half the price of OpenAI's gpt-3.5-turbo. So, it's more expensive, but not expensive.
chantal-gpt-5: This model was trained with 684 billion parameters and is multilingual. It's the most powerful ChantalAI chat model. It excels not only in chat conversations and role-playing behavior but also in solving complex tasks. Its price is nearly the same as OpenAI's gpt-3.5-turbo. Recommendation: Use this model only for more complex tasks or if the extra cost isn't a concern.
Recommendation:
Use chantal-gpt-3 if perfect multilingualism isn't important to you and simple interpersonal conversations are sufficient. If you enjoy more in-depth chats and exciting role-playing, chantal-gpt-4 is the best choice in most cases. If you want an even more perfect experience, if you want your chatbot to perform more complex tasks and you don't care about the extra costs, then choose chantal-gpt-5.
