The OpenAI chatbots offer a choice of four models (gpt-3.5-turbo, gpt-4o-mini, gpt-4o, and gpt-4.1-mini). We deliberately selected these models because they offer the best value for money, from casual conversation to complex role-playing games. A common question is, "Why not use Generation 5 models?" The answer is simple. Chantal-Solutions chatbots are designed for interpersonal conversations, ranging from simple chat to complex role-playing. For this purpose, models need to be fast, affordable, and deliver excellent quality. Tasks like code generation or complex scientific solutions are unnecessary. And that's precisely where the performance difference of Generation 5 lies. In interpersonal conversations like role-playing games, you won't see a noticeable difference. So why use an expensive sledgehammer to crack a nut when the effect is the same?
Here are the features and advantages of each model:
"Small Budget" — gpt-3.5-turbo

Limitations: less reliable with multilingual support, role-playing is less in-depth, answers can be off-key more often.
Recommendation: only if price is truly more important than quality.

Advantage: stronger at answering questions based on predefined information such as product details, technical specifications, etc.
Note: Can also chat, but its clear strengths lie in "Support/Knowledge." We are making this model available now because Chantal-Solutions will also be developing a chatbot for customer support purposes in the future.

ChantalAI Chatbots offer three models to choose from (chantal-gpt-3, chantal-gpt-4, and chantal-gpt-5). Fewer models are not a disadvantage, however. The models from Chantal-Solutions are trained for natural, interpersonal conversations and are perfectly suited for all types of chats and role-playing in Second Life.
"Budget / Fast & Reliable" — chantal-gpt-3

- Users who operate many bots and want an affordable solution.
Advantages:
- Fast responses.
- More affordable than very large models.
- Good basic quality for everyday conversations, simple personas/roles.
Limitations:
- Often appears "superficial" during intensive role-playing (long scenes, many details, subtle emotions).
- Multilingual, but generally weaker than chantal-gpt-4 with mixed languages/slang/complex nuances.
In short: the best choice if "works well and costs little" is more important than maximum roleplay depth.
"Standard / Very good quality, highly multilingual" — chantal-gpt-4

Advantages:

- Excellent when demanding interactions are expected.
Limitations:
- Typically: more expensive than the other options because it's a premium model.
In short: when RP/Story/Emotion is the main goal and it should sound "as good as possible".
